Elisabeth Zilz (born in the 20s) is the founder of the project. She's a retired and a passionate librarian. Half a year she stays in Nicaragua as the honorary director of the Biblioteca. The other six months she returns to Germany making publicity and securing financing of the project.

Teresa Chávez (1963) is single parent of two children. She's an ecologist and has been working in the Biblioteca since 1993. Her areas are administration, book-keeping and representation.
Coralia López (1969), single parent of one child, has been working with us since 2000. She's a teacher and in charge of the visits of the Bibliobús to the different destinations. At the same time she supports the counter staff.
Reybil Cuarezma (1956), father of four children and grandfather of numerous grandchildren, is the oldest employee (1986-1996 and since 2000). As our driver he is in charge of the bus and the entertainment. He helps Coralia checking books at their visits, he's an auxiliary librarian and works in different (technical) areas in the library.
Belissa María Sanabria Lainéz (1962),
divorced, sociologist, has been working with us since March 2004. She's in charge of cataloguing the books.
Luis Enrique Barberena García (1984), single, graphic student, has been working with us since March 2004, too, attending to the users.
María Teodora Pérez Beteta (1953), zoologist, single, one child, has been attending to our users since 2006.
Carla Patricia Martínez (1970), housewife, married, mother of 8 children, started working with us in November 2005. She's in charge of our kiosk and cleaning the library.
Daysi Maria Mairena Silva (1980), single, has just started working with us in May. She'll take care of the Sala Infatil.
Christian Andersch (1985), single. He's been doing his community service since October 2005. He teaches English and takes care of the website.
Elena Lange (1985), single, started her volunteer work in April. She'll be giving English classes, too, and organise a small choir for the children.
