Ernesto Cardenal, Minister of Culture, supports request for introduction of the project.

Consolidation of a group of supporters in Frankfurt am Main in order to make publicity, also on the International Book Fair with Ernesto Cardenal.
1985, November
Foundation of the bookbinding workshop "Sophia Scholl" in Managua. The workshop is still working!
1987, March
The first mobile library is being put into operation. The Robur bus starts
its visits to the prisons, schools and rural communities.
1992, August
Foundation of the non-profit-making organization "Ein Bücherbus in Nicaragua e.V.".
1993, October
Inauguration of the German Nicaraguan Library.
1995
The first mobile library Robur is being replaced by a newer Toyota by .
1997, March
10th anniversary of the project.
1998-99
Plan for the construction of an own building with more space for books and users. Search for a suitable territorry.
1998, March
Foundation of the NGO Asociación Nicaragüense Alemana de Cultura (ANAC) Bertolt Brecht.
1998, September 8
The Federal Cross of Merit is being awarded to Elisabeth Zilz in Frankfurt
am Main.
2000, February 17
The City of Managua donates the territorry for the constuction fo the German Nicaraguan Library.
2000, March 27
Elisabeth Zilz honoured by the UNAN (Universidad Autónoma de Nicaragua) Managua.
2000, August 14
Inauguration of the construction in Parque Linda Vista.
2000 , September
The construction of the German Nicaraguan Library begins.
2001 , March 16
Inauguration of the library.
2002, March 16
1st anniversary of the new building.
2004,March 19.- 22.
3rd anniversary of the new building.
2005, January 23
Construction of the extension to the library begins.
2005, March 16
The director of the Nicaraguan Prisons honours the project.
2005, April 1
The Instituto Nicaragüense de Cultura honours the project.

Completion of the recent construction.
2005, September 5
Música en los Barrios moves to the upper floor of the extension (melb.c3mundos.org).
2005, December 9
Inauguration of the extension as "Auditorio Ángel Torrellas".
